The renowned Chamarel Colored Sands, also known as Terres des Sept Couleurs, is a globally recognized natural wonder. The sand grains in these dunes exhibit distinct hues and possess a unique characteristic—they resist blending. Even when you mix various layers, they gradually separate into their distinct colors.

The Pamplemousses Botanical Garden stands as one of the world’s oldest, originally established by the French botanist Pierre Poivre with a practical aim of cultivating spices. Expanding across 25 hectares, the garden now hosts around five hundred plant species. Beyond visual delight, the garden offers a sensory experience with numerous aromatic plants. Among its renowned residents are approximately 80 species of palm trees and remarkable giant water lilies. These lilies boast leaves that can grow up to two meters in diameter and can support the weight of a child.

Situated in the southern part of the island, La Vanille Nature Park, also referred to as the “Crocodile Park,” houses a notable crocodile farm with hundreds of alligators. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, visitors have the thrilling opportunity to witness the feeding of these creatures. The park’s other highlight is its diverse turtle population, featuring various species, including enormous elephant tortoises imported from the Seychelles. Visitors can enter their enclosures, closely observe, touch, and even feed these fascinating turtles.
